In this time of leaving…

“Oh,” Dean nodded in understanding. “I’m glad you care… I’ll always cherish our time together. I w-wouldn’t give it up for anything, even if giving it up meant it wouldn’t hurt when you left.”

“Nor me, darling.” Eros whispered. “Nor me.”

Dean took a deep breath before he settled against Eros, simply holding him close. The time was ticking away faster with every moment. It wouldn’t be long before their time would be up. This would have to be enough.

“Another hour or so.” Eros said very softly, holding the other tightly.

In this time of leaving…

“I think more about you.” Eros murmured, the admission coming quietly. “About how you’ll feel, how you’ll be affected. I don’t really do that very often.”

“Oh so I made you a softie,” he teased, his lips quirking upwards as he poked his lover lightly in the side. He needed to tease, to joke, to make these moments feel happy, and not like they really did… heartbreaking.

“No, no.” Eros said, giving a little chuckle or the same. “You just made me care.”

In this time of leaving…

Eros smiled softly, pressing close to the other man. “You’ve reflected on me a fair bit too, ya know.”

“Really?” Dean hadn’t even thought that he might have had such a profound effect on the other. “How?”

“I think more about you.” Eros murmured, the admission coming quietly. “About how you’ll feel, how you’ll be affected. I don’t really do that very often.”

“No, I’m not. B-but I thought I was and you… you showed me that I wasn’t,” he shook his, lips twitching into a smile. “I love you. You made me a better man.”

Eros beamed, looking to the other with tears shining in his eyes. “I love you too.”

Dean leaned forward, kissing him briefly on the lips. “I’ll never f-forget our time together, because it’s reflected in who I am now.”

Eros smiled softly, pressing close to the other man. “You’ve reflected on me a fair bit too, ya know.”

In this time of leaving…

“Yeah.. I know. I love you t-too,” he pressed into his hand, making a contented sound. After a moment he pulled back just long enough to set the camera on the table, before returning to Eros’s arms.

“You know I th-think you’re the best thing that ever happened to me, besides coming here I guess. You helped make me better, realize I wasn’t broken.”

Eros’ mouth dropped open, and he found himself unable to formulate a response. “No. No, you aren’t broken.” He said in the softest of voices.

In this time of leaving…

Dean let out a bark of laughter of his own as Eros pulled him in for a kiss. Even though he hurt, their laughter had made it feel just a little bit more bearable. He took the camera, flipping through the pictures, only to look up at Eros, beaming.

“These are amazing. Thank you, thank you for this, for everything.”

Eros grinned right back, leaning back and gently stroking over the other’s back. “No problem. I love ya, you know.”

In this time of leaving…

Eros offered a little grin before looking back to the camera. “Ready?” He then emitted a new pulse of energy, pressing the button to take the photo with a single crafted thought.

Just as Dean heard the button for the camera click, the turned, pressing his lips to his lover’s cheek. He might have been upset, terribly so, but he wanted the moment captured to show just how much he loved Eros.

Eros was laughing as the shutter went again, and he pulled Dean into a kiss for the third photo.

There ended up six photos of them in motion, and Eros grinned as he summoned the camera to his hand and handed it to Dean.

In this time of leaving…

The appearance of the camera didn’t surprise him—he as used to that sort of thing. It pleased him though, that Eros would simply make it appear. He didn’t actually want to leave his side to get the camera. Not even for the few moments it would take to do it.

“Of course,” he shuffled slightly before sitting up straight, a watery smile in place. He knew what he would do, just before Eros clicked the button, took the picture.

Eros offered a little grin before looking back to the camera. “Ready?” He then emitted a new pulse of energy, pressing the button to take the photo with a single crafted thought.

“Thanks,” he murmured again. “I wish… I wish you had it easier Eros. Every time you t-tell me about your past I want to protect you but… I can’t do that. Not where you’re going,” he sighed, sitting up so that he was pressed against the god instead of laying in his lap.

“It’s okay.” Eros murmured, holding the other tightly. “It’s alright.”

Dean focused on breathing as he leaned against Eros, encased in his arms. The world would continue to move forward, he would have to too. It just seemed hard to imagine that… Imagine a world without the God to guide him, to share his love with.

“Should I go get the camera,” he whispered in question.

Eros summoned it with a thought, letting it wait in the air. He offered a smile, a well-practised one that looked genuine. “Sit up then. Can’t have you looking a slouch, can we?” He teased, though his tone was gentle.

In this time of leaving…

“I… yeah you just… you weren’t my Eros then, my lover,” he wanted the picture, but he would not press for it. Eros said he would give it to him, but… He didn’t want to make him do something he didn’t want to in their last moments.

“No, I wasn’t.” Eros murmured. “And that’s why we’ll get a photo tonight. But it might… Help, a bit. To make up for time we lost.”

“Thank you,” he sniffled, breathing softly. “Your b-beautiful, inside and out. Can… Can I take a picture of you, of us, together? Before you leave? Please?”

“I ain’t fond of photos, but sure.” Eros murmured. “For you.”

“Thank you,” he breathed out. “Just one, just… I just don’t w-want anything about you to fog or for me to forget.”

“You can ask Apollo, when I’m gone.” Eros murmured. “I’m all over history if you want to look for me. I apprenticed under Da Vinci - he was an artist. And an engineer, an architect, a sculptor.” Eros smiled. “There are paintings of me. He’ll know which ones. Sculptures. Some of them are of me. Some of them are just of me, but not of “Eros”.” There are notations in books, mentions of vague friends - of me.” He caught Dean’s eyes. “I’m there to look for, I promise.”

In this time of leaving…

“No, no it’s okay.” Eros soothed him softly, making small hushing noises. “It’s fine, it’s okay. I won’t do it.”

“Thank you,” he sniffled, breathing softly. “Your b-beautiful, inside and out. Can… Can I take a picture of you, of us, together? Before you leave? Please?”
